I think my favourite Latin plant name is Arctostaphylos uva-ursi. Bear berry. It rolls so trippingly off the tongue ;-)

That plant has great-sounding names all around. Besides bearberry, with multiple b's and r's, the Native name was kinnikinnick. Do you know the plant? It's a very useful medicinal.
